Nigro’s Auto Body in South Philadelphia has been certified as the first shop in Philadelphia to offer hand control installations for disabled drivers and they are donating a portion of profits to the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. Owner, Domenic Nigro is commited to helping the community and this partnership is just the latest in a long line of charitable efforts from Nigro’s Auto Body.
The hand control systems allow disabled drivers to operate the vehicle with only their hands, giving them a freedom that was once impossible for paralysed individuals.
10% of all hand control system profits will be donated to the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. Their mission: “A commitment to finding a cure for paralysis resulting from spinal cord injury and to seeing millions worldwide walk again, the Buoniconti family established The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis in 1992.”
Our hand control system was specifically designed to give drivers the benefit of controlling a vehicle with both hands on the wheel making for a safer, smoother driving experience. Unlike other manual hand controls, our operating handle is in the vertical position… giving you that precise control you’ve been looking for. Accelerate by rocking back through an arching motion with the fingers and/or the palm. To apply the brakes, simply push forward.
